Volunteers

Volunteers play a vital role in the operation of the Society. Whether providing reference services, processing collections, or serving as docents for the permanent exhibit, the countless hours contributed by members and other volunteers are critical to the continued success of the Society. The Collections Manager maintains a list of particular projects for which the Society seeks additional help; if you have experience as a docent or with reference services and/or cataloging, and would be able to commit eight hours per week, please fill out a volunteer application.

The Society also welcomes volunteers
who can provide staff with administrative support, with a minimum committment of four hours per week. If you would like to help in this capacity, please contact the Society at info@historydc.org.
