A Meeting to Help Determine HSW’s Future
Purpose: To provide information about the Historical Society's current position and financial health and to seek the views of everyone who has an interest in the Historical Society's future on what its priorities should be. These views will inform the HSW Board and help us determine the future mission and priorities for the Historical Society of Washington so that it can enter into a new era of historical inquiry, financial sustainability and community involvement.
Who Should Attend: HSW members, friends and those who want to help shape the HSW’s future.
When: Tuesday, September 20, 2011, and Thursday, September 22, 2011, from 6:30 – 9:00 PM (we encourage current HSW members to attend the Thursday evening event)
Where: The Historical Society of Washington, D.C., Carnegie Library, 801 K Street, N.W., Second Floor East Gallery (enter via K Street entrance and proceed via the stairs or elevator)
Format: 6:30 – 7:00 PM: meet & greet, refreshments, walk about
7:00 – 9:00 PM: forum/discussion: update on HSW’s financial ‘health’; seek direction from participants on HSW’s future so that the Kiplinger Library, publications, programs and exhibits meet the needs of the public.
