Membership Benefits
Washington is a fascinating place brimming with unique stories. As our nation’s capital, the city is known to everyone in the world as a monumental federal city. Less well known, however, is Washington as the culturally-rich livable hometown behind the headlines. The Historical Society of Washington, D.C. serves to collect, preserve, and share those stories. HSW's exhibits, programs, and Kiplinger Research Library are FREE and open to the public. Our collections include over 100,000 images, books, maps, and objects. The Historical Society also promotes research and scholarship, and publishes Washington History magazine, the only academic journal dedicated wholly to the history of Washington.
Please join HSW or make a donation to support our mission of sharing Washington's stories with the world.

- A annual subscription to the Washington History journal;
