Membership Benefits

Membership in the Historical Society offers many benefits beyond helping to support our collections, exhibits, and activities. Members are invited to special receptions, receive priority access to programs and workshops, enjoy expedited library service, and elect members to the Board of Trustees.

At many levels, individuals receive a subscription to Washington History, the Society’s biannual journal, which is available both in print and online. Members may also take advantage of special discounts on fees and services at the Kiplinger Research Library.

  • Anacostia Level ($70)

    • One-year subscription to new print issues of Washington History
    • 10% discount on Kiplinger Research Library fees and services
  • Potomac Level ($100)
    • All of the above benefits, plus
    • Access to all back issues of the journal online through JSTOR
    • 15% discount on Kiplinger Research Library fees and services

Donor Circles

Members of our donor circles help the Society sustain its mission and support our important educational and scholarly programs. Donors receive exclusive benefits and invitations in recognition of their annual gift.

  • Ellicott Circle ($250)
